Physical Education

Active Minds, Healthy bodies!

‘Active Bodies, Healthy Minds’ is our mission statement for PE.

PE is a key part of our school curriculum and school life.  Post-pandemic, the importance of regular physical activity is especially crucial for our children.  The lessons that can be learnt from sport in terms of character and respect and living a healthy lifestyle closely match our intent. We match the NC aims through fundamental movement skills in EYFS and KS1, and develop into competitive games in KS2, and our pupils ‘Know More’ and ‘Show More’ in the areas of  motor competence; rules, strategies and tactics; and healthy participation.

In PE at Ingoldmells Academy, we aim to build the children's motor competence, improve their knowledge and application of rules, strategies and tactics, and above all, encourage them to have a love of physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle!
